The Lenvers is an original guitar designed and made by Hervé Lahoun luthier in Salles sur l'Hers near Toulouse,
France
I had the chance to participate in the reflection about this instrument, to be able to order the first model and to follow the manufacture.
A guitar upside down. Not for the pleasure of novelty.
The
fruit of a long reflection on the ergonomics of the guitar, aiming above all to remove the footrest that generates an asymmetrical rocking
of the pelvis ... and therefore a tension, and often significant pain.
Invert the neck, to play
indifferently on the left thigh or on the right thigh, without footrest or accessory ... The idea was launched.
It quickly led to a
shorter scale, 575 mm or 600 mm to allow a playing position without significant extension of the left arm.
With a low impact on the sound (to convince you, try a standard guitar with a capo in 2 ° case while maintaining a 440 HZ A, capo in place), but a greater ease of play due to the smaller
spacing of the frets.
The right hand is no longer in front of the soundhole, the
projection of the instrument is remarkable.
And of course, access to the
high notes is incomparable: 24 frets, new pieces have to be written using this possibility ...
